Hunkering Down: 4 Brain Wise Ways to Cope during Stress
1. To unlock the stress, release it in a somatic way such as yoga, meditation, breathing, tai chi, walking inside your house or in your yard.
2. Use of expressive arts such as drawing, painting, collage, making or playing music, singing, writing poetry. Create a memory box, design stress ball, or design a mandala.
3. Once you have gotten more centered and de-stressed on a physical and emotional level, then journal, read a book, draw a timeline or talk with a trusted adult.
4. Supreme Self Care: Get at least 8 hours of sleep, eat good nutrition, nurturing social supports, talk to a counselor. Email a DVMS counselor and we will email or call you.
