2025-2026 Back to School

Principal's Message

Hello DVMS Community!

Welcome back! Whether you are a brand-new 6th-grade family or a seasoned 8th-grade pro, we are so excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year at Diablo Vista Middle School. I hope you had a restful and fun-filled summer break.

There’s nothing better than the start of a new school year—it’s a clean slate, a fresh start, and a world of possibilities. It’s a time for reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, tackling new challenges, and discovering new passions. Middle school is a time of incredible growth, and our team is ready and waiting to support, guide, and cheer on your students every step of the way.

Our amazing teachers have been planning and preparing to make this year the best one yet. We're focused on building strong relationships, creating dynamic learning experiences, and ensuring our school is a place where everyone belongs.

We truly believe that a strong partnership between home and school is the key to success. We can’t wait to partner with you this year. Get ready for a year of growth, fun, and learning!

One way our community supports our school is through the annual fundraising. Our Future Fund pages will be opening August 1st. It's one stop shop to join our PTSA, support of EdFund who keeps class sizes lower (even in challenging times), and directly donate to our school to support the academics in every class. You can also purchase PE clothes and more. A separate email will be sent with the link once it is live on August 1st.

Respectfully,

Jeff Osborn

FUTURE FUND*

  • What is Future Fund and do I need to complete the online registration?

Registration must be completed online through Future Fund for all DVMS students.

Future Fund is a registration system that allows parents to register students at DVMS, be included in our printed & online directories, become PTSA members, support the Foundation, and make donations to teacher's classrooms. Later in the year, this is where you purchase tickets for social events & other activities.

Yes. Use the same email and password from Creekside, Sycamore, Tassajara, Golden View, or Monte Vista. Contact information from your profile will be “pulled” in. You will need to add your middle school child(ren) and select the grade for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Can I change my FutureFund login email address?

Yes. First, log in with your current email and password to diablovista.futurefund.com/member. Then click on "Profile" to update your email address.

  • Who do I contact if I have technical issues with Future Fund?

*The registration website is not sponsored by the school. Information provided on this website may be available to parent-teacher associations and other educational benefit foundations, as well as school personnel, as required.

Eagles Take Off

We are pleased to host our incoming 6th grade Orientation (Better known as “Eagles Take Off”). This event is coordinated by our Leadership Class for our incoming 6th grade students. Parents will drop off their incoming 6th grader by noon in front of the gymnasium. The scheduled games and tours start at noon in the gym and are for students only. Parents will have an optional meet and greet with Principal Osborn and important parent volunteers from PTSA and EdFund to help you orient yourself to middle school. This year we will continuing the distribution of SRVUSD issued Chromebooks during Eagles Take Off. Please have your child bring an empty backpack so they can easily carry (and not mix up) their chromebook.

New to DVMS 7th & 8th graders will have a separate tour and introduction at 1PM at the flagpole by the admin office. Mr. Osborn will be available to greet parents at this event as well.

New Cell Phone Policy

The Board has approved a new cell phone and mobile communication device policy for all grades, which goes into effect this school year. Please familiarize yourself and discuss with your student the new rules and expectations around mobile device usage before, during, and after school. See this graphic and the new BP 5131.8 and AR 5131.8

The Children and Youth Behavioral Initiative (CYBHI)

The Children and Youth Behavioral Initiative (CYBHI), included in the Budget Act of 2021, requires school districts to partner with health service providers to support social and emotional health services for students. As a result, districts can now receive reimbursement for physical and behavioral health services provided to students during the school day. These services are free for families—no copays or deductibles are required. Beginning this summer, families are asked to provide their child’s health insurance or Medi-Cal information during the Annual Update and new student enrollments. Learn more on our CYBHI webpage.
